Yes I've taken the plunge and listed it on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....em=2935942879# I'd like to keep it - but as I want to concerntrate on 16mm now I can't afford to have the money tied up in the camera when I'm not going to be using it that much. This is the camera we used to film In My Image - it has a 25fps crystal synch from The Film Group, and an external battery pack from Beaulieu Cinema Services, Australia.

    Beaulieu Cinema Services, Australia.

Wow! Beaulieu has some type of presence in Australia?

Anyway, couldn't your camera be used as a "B" camera on your 16m shoots? Perhaps for close-ups or some other quick pick-up shot when the 16mm camera is in use getting some other shot?

Yeah I did think about that - but I thought the difference in quality would be too obvious (I'm hoping I can get cinema releases from a blow up from the 16mm) - but it would be good - particularly with the macro function on the lense of the 4008

I think for close-ups and inserts you can't go wrong keeping the camera as a B-camera. I did a blow-up to 16mm once from a Super-8 film and the result was really nice.

A wide shot blown up from Super-8mm probably won't have the effectiveness when compared to if it had been shot in 16mm, but a medium shot or a close-up, and especially a macro shot, would probably hold up really well.

Have you considered doing a test on a sample piece of footage.

I agree a S8 to 16 blow up would be alright - but I'm hoping that my 16 can get blown up to 35 which would make S8 to 35 not really feasable - but otherwise it would work and I would keep the camera.

I saw your post about your film on another board.

Could you share a little more with us. It's subject, your home many days shooting schedule, budget, problems, solutions etc?

What do you hope to accomplish with your production?
